The Color Purple

Why are we such big fans of the color purple? Purple is the color of our club, because it symbolizes love, happiness, faith, hope, and life.  Purple is a unique color that happens to appear in many shades.  It is a cathartic color that you want to wear on days that seem to be gloomy; it turns those days into happy days.  Dream Catcher's at Liberty wants to bring our patients smiles all day, and we want to cherish the small moments and things.  Life is not all about the big things, it is the small things that matter the most.  Did someone smile at you who never smiles at you; do you recall that moment?  Do you remember when someone paid for your meal when you were out at dinner?  Did you ever take a picture in your mind of a beautiful day, can you remember that moment like it was yesterday? Wear a little purple, and "Do all things with Love."

Pay it Forward for Wendy Wayne

The Legend of the Dream Catcher

Native Americans believe the night air is filled with dreams... both good and bad. The Dream Catcher, when hung over or near your bed, swings freely in the air and catches the dreams as they flow by.
The good dreams know how to pass through the dream catcher, slipping through the outer holes and sliding down the soft feathers so gently that many times the sleeping person does not know he or she is dreaming. The bad dreams get tangled in the dream catcher and never see the next light of day.
Our Dream Team uses the Dream Catcher to find the good dreams and get them to our patient.

The 2012 Shirts

The Dreamteam created their shirt for the 2012 team.  We are so lucky to be working with an excellent group at Liberty High school and cannot wait to dive into the 2012 year.  Thank you to Western Graphics for the design.  We will wear these shirts with our khaki pants, jeans, and shorts.  We are also hoping to purchase uniform shoes; we match so we look ready to capture a dream for our patients.  If you are on the team get ready for an amazing summer, and help spread the word for next year's potential members!

Hoffmann Hospice Article

The Busacca family was featured with the first dream for the Bakersfield LHS branch of Dreamcatchers in the latest Hoffman Hospice magazine. They gave a man and his wife doggy baskets for their 5 wonderful puppies. It was an absolutely wonderful experience to understand that it really is the little things that matter the most in life. LHS Dreamteam

Liberty's Dreamteam is a student sponsored group at Liberty High School.  The Busacca triplets picked up Caitlin Crommet's club.  We are working through Hoffman Hospice.  The goal of DC is to provide for the elderly and grant them their final wishes.  The elders are wise people, who we can take a lot from.  We are looking forward to granting many wishes this summer.
